I had an amazing opportunity presented to me by Mike Dicely @ Hyper Racing to wheel a Junior Sprint car this year at the Tulsa Shootout located in Tulsa Oklahoma. The first racing of the 2025 year in a car I've never raced. I really enjoyed racing the Junior Sprint and can't wait for next year. It was a great experience, and I could not be more proud or happy of how far I was able to make it. There was 110 Junior Sprint cars registered. After day #1 they only kept the top 60 which I was well in, so I was able to move forward. My heat race I started 3rd and went right to 2nd briefly pressuring the leader but then maintained a 2nd place run for almost the whole heat race. Being this was my first time ever racing this type of car I was learning the lines to run and i missed my line allowing the 3rd place car to get under me so needless to say I finished 3rd. I again was able to advance to the next day which was qualifiers. My qualifier I started 8th and drove up to 4th gaining enough passing points to advance to the B-Main the following day. The B-Main was our last chance to make the Tulsa Shootout. I started 4th and they were only taking two. We took the start and I immediately went to 2nd and was gaining on the leader. After a pretty decent size wreck and a caution there was a caution and the leader and the 3rd place car who race Junior Sprints took a restart that I knew nothing about and unfortunately it was good enough to put me back to 3rd and I did not make the A-Main. One spot out of one of the biggest races of the year and in a car, I had never raced before was a little upsetting, but I was happy to make it as far as I did and thankful for the opportunity that was presented to me. I will be back in the Junior Sprint car for 7 days straight of racing for PA Speedweek in July. Stay tuned for those updates!
